What happens when you ask

Four steps, about as long as it takes to read them

  1. You write a question

    In your own words, in the language you work in. No syntax, no field names – “which products lost margin since June” is a valid question.

  2. The Copilot reads your model, not your rows

    It works from the data model of your environment: which tables exist, how they relate, what the fields mean. Individual records are not what it needs to decide how to answer.

  3. You get a chart, not a paragraph

    The answer is a widget: chart type chosen, filters set, sorting applied. If the type is wrong for what you meant, change it – it is an ordinary chart from that moment on.

  4. You keep it or you throw it away

    Put it on a dashboard, or ask again with one word changed. Nothing is saved until you decide to save it.

What gets asked before the first prompt

The four questions we hear from IT

Does our data leave the environment?

Not for a chart. The Copilot is given the structure of the data source - table names, column names, data types - and your question. Records stay where they are. An answer written in words is a different case, and the AI overview says which figures travel with it.

Which model answers, and under whose contract?

An external language model, running outside the EU under the EU standard contractual clauses. Your data stays on our servers in Austria either way - the Copilot only ever sees the structure. The AI overview sets out what travels and what does not.

Can we switch it off?

Yes – per environment and per role. A team that does not want the Copilot does not see it.

What if the answer is wrong?

The result is a normal widget, so you can see exactly which fields, filters and aggregation produced it, and correct any of them. Nothing is hidden behind the prompt.
